So I knew there was a big following in eSports. From everything from Counterstrike, which I used to play when I was younger, to Dota - which I still don’t quite understand. This weekend I decided to spend sometime watching something different. So I fired up twitch to watch a few live streams. I had no intention of sitting for the next eight hours sitting watching some competitive eSports.
I ended up watching the IEM Beijing-Haidan Online tournament. Now I am not sure if was not in Beijing because of a little thing call COVID-19 and it being a global pandemic and all. But I ended up watching the EU group stages. I was actually glued to my TV screen.
I had watched some of the Halo tournaments in the past but I never really followed it with great interest, but this time I have never been so interested in an entire tournament. Before I could stop myself I was googling to learn about the types of games and play tactics. I truly was engrossed and I actually started to plan my entire weekend around watching these games. I think I might have found a sport I like to watch, which is weird.
